Basketball NSW is the governing body for basketball in New South Wales. Basketball NSW is an affiliated member of Basketball Australia (BA), the national governing body. Our aim is to grow, develop and promote the game by supporting our members, stakeholders and the basketball family in general.
The Macarthur Heat fields teams across Under 12s, Under 14s, Under16s and Under18 teams in Basketball NSW Molten Waratah Junior Metro League that is conducted on a Home and Away season from March August each year. All teams have regular training at Minto Indoor Sports Centre.

The Spalding Waratah Junior League is representative competitions run by Basketball NSW throughout Regional and Metropolitan NSW. The competition consists of six leagues; Country Champtionship League (CCL), Eastern Junior League (EJL), Metro Junior League (MJL), Northern Junior League (NJL), Sountern Junior League (SJL) and Western Junior League (WJL).

Unfortunately Covid-19 has forced the remainder of the 2021 Basketball NSW Metro Junior League and Spalding Waratah League to be cancelled. Whilst this is a disappointing outcome for all our athletes, coaches, parents and many volunteers, there is still a lot to celebrate about what we saw in this representative season.
Cameron has experience as both a player and coach in the NSW Metro league. He has also coached college basketball players as recently as 2018 at York College. Cameron has run camps and clinics for ages 4 and up. It's really exciting to have coach Cameron working with Wildfire Basketball.

Bankstown Basketball Association, the Bruins, select Junior and Senior Representative teams that compete in the Basketball NSW Waratah Leagues. This is the next step up from Local Competition for any athletes. The Bruins, where possible select 2-3 boys and girls teams in each of the U12, U14, U16, U18, Youth (U22) and Open age groups.
